Hollywood Burbank Airport Employees and Tenants Raise Funds and Donations During Holidays for Wellness Works

BURBANK, Calif., February 4, 2019 – Hollywood Burbank Airport staff and tenants collectively raised over $5,000 for Wellness Works, located in Glendale, California, during the 2018 holiday season. Wellness Works is a non-profit organization that has been providing services in the community for over 30 years to veterans and active military family members.

Hollywood Burbank Airport Serves Over 5 Million Passengers in 2018

BURBANK, Calif., February 4, 2019 – Hollywood Burbank Airport served 5.2 million revenue passengers in calendar year 2018, a milestone recovery from the recession that impacted the aviation industry a decade ago. The 5,263,972 passengers served in 2018 is an increase of 11.07 percent over the 4,739,466 passengers in calendar year 2017, but remains below the Airport’s pre-recession peak of 5.9 million passengers, which occurred in 2007.

Hollywood Burbank Airport Receives Five Awards From Airports Council International-North America

BURBANK, Calif., January 22, 2019 – Hollywood Burbank Airport’s first place awards for its branding initiative and overall marketing program were presented this morning to the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority. The Airport, in partnership with its branding agency, Anyone Collective, received a total of five awards from Airport Council International-North America (ACI-NA) at its 2018 Marketing and Communications Conference this past November. Twenty awards are given to airports which “recognize the quality of work, abundance of talent, and creativity within the marketing, communications, and customer service field of the airport industry.” For 2018, ACI-NA received more than 300 entries for the 20 awards.

Increased November Passenger Numbers Confirm High Holiday Travel Demand Prediction at Hollywood Burbank Airport

BURBANK, Calif., January 9, 2019 – Airline Passenger traffic at Hollywood Burbank Airport continued solid growth for the month of November 2018. The November 2018 passenger count of 479,719 is an increase of 7.85 percent over the November 2017 passenger count of 444,800. Year-to-date, January through November 2018 total passenger count of 4,798,818 is an increase of 11.29 percent over January through November 2017 total passenger count of 4,311,967.

Airport Authority Awards Contract for Design Charrette Workshop Facilitator for Replacement Passenger Terminal

BURBANK, Calif., December 11, 2018 – On Monday, December 10, 2018, the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority Commission awarded a contract to MIG, Inc., in the amount of $325,490, for public design charrette workshop facilitator services for the Replacement Passenger Terminal. MIG was founded in 1982 and has over a dozen offices in the western United States, including a local office in Pasadena. A multidisciplinary firm with a staff of over 250, MIG specializes in public engagement, inter-agency collaboration, facilitation, communications, planning and design, and has worked extensively with public agencies and policymakers throughout California, including on projects such as the Metro Gold Line Extension/Boyle Heights Transit-Oriented Urban Design Charrettes, the Santa Monica Municipal Airport public visioning process, and the LA Great Streets Planning Initiative. Daniel Iacofano, PhD, who is president, CEO and co-founder of the firm, will serve as the Principal-in-Charge and lead facilitator.

Passenger Numbers Continue to Rise at Hollywood Burbank Airport

BURBANK, Calif., December 3, 2018 — Airline passenger traffic at Hollywood

Burbank Airport continued the upward trend of passenger increases for the month of October 2018 passenger count of 464,607 is an increase of 6.74 percent over the October 2017 passenger count of 435,283. Year-to-date, January through October 2018 total passenger count of 4,319,099 is an increase of 11.69 percent over January through October 2017 total passenger count of 3,867,167.
