MEDIA GUIDELINES
Parking
Media can park in the designated media/contractor parking lot. After entering the airport from Hollywood Way, stay in the furthest left-hand lane and enter the Valet area. Stay to the right, and let the attendant know you’re with a media organization. There are usually spots available in the lot – if not, media crews will have to pay for a parking spot.
Media vehicles parked in unauthorized spots/areas will be ticketed and/or towed.
Live Shots
There are two designated areas for live shots at Hollywood Burbank Airport – the media/contractor parking lot, and the top of the short-term parking structure. The short-term parking structure roof is available only when spaces are open, and crews are responsible for paying for time spent in the lot. Any media members that are found shooting live shots in any other location will be asked to move immediately, regardless of how close it is to their “hit time.”
B-Roll Rules
Media crews are asked not to be in the public right-of-way when recording video, or impede employees from performing their duties. At TSA checkpoints, video identifying TSA employees or showing the screening of passengers is prohibited.

**MEDIA PROTOCOL FOR ONSET OF MAJOR INCIDENT OR SITUATION IMPACTING OPERATIONS AND/OR GENERATING WIDE INTEREST**
When a notable incident occurs, first priority for staff at the airport is always the safety and security of people and property.
As such, the airport has limited staffing resources for fielding media and public phone calls and emails.
To help media outlets seeking updated information on a situation, and to ensure each media outlet has fair and equal access to the information – within the same timeline – the following protocol is in place*.
*In the event of a major incident (e.g. aircraft mishap with casualties, natural disaster), the airport will start with this process, then shift into incident command post mode, with subsequent press conferences, etc., for message and information dissemination.
Thank you for your cooperation.
