California Regional Water Quality Control Board, Los Angeles Region, Approves Human Health Risk Assessment of Adjacent Property

BURBANK, Calif., February 20, 2018 – The California Regional Water Quality Board, Los Angeles Region (Regional Water Board) has approved the Human Health Risk Assessment (HHRA) that the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority submitted as one of the steps in the replacement passenger terminal process. In its letter of approval, the Regional Water Board stated that it “considers the Adjacent Property compatible for the construction of and operation of an airport replacement passenger terminal and associated facilities.” The Adjacent Property, a portion of the Lockheed Plant B-6 site, is the preferred site for the replacement passenger terminal. With HHRA approval by the Regional Water Board, the Airport Authority has reached a key milestone in the selection of a site for the replacement terminal project.

Hollywood Burbank Airport Unveils New Name and Logo on Airport Terminal Tower; Airport Also Introduces Traveler’s Tails, Its New In-Terminal Pet Therapy Program

BURBANK, Calif., December 14, 2017 — In an official brand launch ceremony this morning, Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority Vice President and Glendale City Councilmember Zareh Sinanyan and Airport Executive Director Frank Miller unveiled the new Hollywood Burbank Airport name and logo on the façade of the Airport’s terminal tower. The brand launch event was followed by the official introduction of Traveler’s Tails, the Airport’s new pet therapy program.

Hollywood Burbank Airport Posts October 2017 Statistics

BURBANK, Calif., November 30, 2017 — Airline passenger traffic at Hollywood Burbank Airport increased in October 2017 as compared with October 2016. October’s passenger count of 435,283 is an increase of 15.93 percent from the October 2016 passenger count of 375,456. The Airport’s calendar year-to-date passenger total for the first ten months now stands at 3,867,167, an increase of 13.65 percent when compared to 3,402,555 passengers through the same period in 2016.

Hollywood Burbank Airport Offers Travel Tips for the Busy Thanksgiving Holiday

BURBANK, Calif., November 16, 2017 — Thanksgiving week kicks off the winter holiday travel season, and passengers traveling through Hollywood Burbank Airport between Monday, November 20, and Monday, November 27, will experience higher-than-normal passenger traffic. We expect upwards of 125,000 travelers that will pass through the Airport during this eight-day Thanksgiving holiday travel period. The busiest travel days will be Tuesday and Wednesday before Thanksgiving, and Sunday and Monday after Thanksgiving. If you’re still looking to book your trip, the slowest travel days are Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday.

Airport Authority Commission Elects Pasadena Commissioner Terry Tornek as President for the Coming Year

BURBANK, Calif., July 18, 2017 – On Monday, July 17, 2017, the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority, owner and operator of Hollywood Burbank Airport, elected new officers to head the Airport Authority Commission for a one-year term from July 2017 through June 2018. The Commission elects officers each July.
