JetBlue Airways Announces Nonstop Service Between Hollywood Burbank Airport and Boston Logan International Airport

BURBANK, Calif., April 26, 2018 — At a press conference held today at Hollywood Burbank Airport, JetBlue Airways announced that it will launch new nonstop service between Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR) and Boston Logan International Airport (BOS), beginning September 5, 2018. JetBlue will also add a second daily nonstop flight to John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York City, with a scheduled daytime departure. Tickets for the new service became available for purchase yesterday morning on www.jetblue.com.

Airport Authority Awards Contract for Preparation of Environmental Impact Statement for Replacement Passenger Terminal Project

BURBANK, Calif., April 16, 2018 – The Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority Commission voted 8-0, with one member absent, to award a contract to RS&H California, Inc. (RS&H) in the amount of $2,811,801 for preparation of an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the replacement passenger terminal project, required by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).

2018 Hollywood Burbank Airport Tower Banner Student Art Contest Winners Announced

BURBANK, Calif., April 2, 2018 – The high school student winners of the Hollywood Burbank Airport 2018 Tower Banner Student Art Contest from Burbank, Glendale, and Pasadena Unified School Districts presented their winning artwork at today’s Airport Authority meeting. The winners were chosen from 235 entries across all three districts. Joining them were their art teachers and district art coordinators, along with many of the students’ proud parents.

Hollywood Burbank Airport Posts Double-Digit Increase for January 2018 Statistics

BURBANK, Calif., March 19, 2018 – Airline passenger traffic at Hollywood Burbank Airport in January 2018 continues the trend of double-digit passenger percentage increases experienced over the past 11 months. When compared with January 2017, the January 2018 passenger count of 370,230 is an increase of 13.15 percent over the January 2017 passenger count of 327,191.

Safety First: Airport Authority Conducts Emergency Plan Full-Scale Exercise at Hollywood Burbank Airport

BURBANK, Calif., March 14, 2018 – First responders from across northern Los Angeles County, including firefighters, police departments and mental health professionals, tested their response to an aircraft engine fire at Hollywood Burbank Airport on Wednesday, March 14, at 9 a.m. The Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority, along with numerous local agencies participated in an Airport Emergency Plan Full-Scale Exercise designed to test the Airport’s readiness in case of a real incident. A partial aircraft fuselage was placed at the exercise site, and fire-related special effects signaled the start of the exercise. The Airport continued with normal operations throughout the exercise, which lasted approximately two hours.
